With a variety of options to choose from, below are some starting points to help clarify what you may be looking for:
Wellness Massage - self-care to reduce stress, promote relaxation, improve function, and decrease pain and muscle soreness unrelated to diagnosed medical conditions; soothing touch to help your nervous system down-regulate, de-stress, and find a sense of calm; focusing on promoting physical and mental relaxation and well-being; non-curative measures used to improve quality of life; the ‘feel good’ massage
Therapeutic - helping relieve pain, reduce stress, and work on a specific problem(s); measures used to support diseases, disorders, and/or injuries; addressing specific physical issues in the body such as chronic pain, muscle tension, and pathologies such as plantar fasciitis
Prenatal - massage for pregnant bodies, both during pregnancy and the postpartum period; adjustments to provide comfort and care for the body may include using additional props, as well as lying on your side and/or semi-reclined.
Sports - in athletic settings; before, in-between or after training sessions/sporting events; perfect to warm up before a yoga class or work out, as well as after to aid in recovery; sports massage sessions are generally range from 10-30 minutes depending on the setting.
